Cork Product Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
- What is the difference between the Jelinek Cork eco hybrid synthetic stem and a regular synthetic stem?
-
Synthetic: Synthetic corks are made from a food grade plastic polymer. They tend to be less resilient than a natural cork so generally require a more uniform bottle opening. This modern addition to traditional cork is available in a variety of colors.
Jelinek Eco-Hybrid is a combination of synthetic material and real cork. It incorporates the sustainable elements of natural cork, is slightly more flexible and resilient than a fully plastic synthetic stopper, yet maintains other properties of a synthetic.

- What cork material can you do custom prints on?
-
We can print on most any cork substrate, however there are some things to keep in mind.
The common size limitation for simple flat surface objects (examples: cork sheets, fabric, yoga blocks, coasters, the long surface of a wine cork) are as follows:
4-color print: 29.5" x 12.5"
Black only: 26" x 17"
For objects outside of those size guidelines, we may need to setup special tooling or even outsource printing to a print partner. In some cases there can be extensive setup and tooling costs. In almost all cases for non-standard sized object there will be a minimum order requirement (for example, the tooling costs do not allow us to print on a single 48" cork roll however we could print on multiple rolls as the tooling cost becomes feasible). Please contact us in these cases so that we can review your project.

- Can you adhere cork roll material or wall tiles to concrete block?
-
Yes you can with our approved water based contact cement. You need to make sure that the block wall is in good shape with no spalling, pitting, flaking. You should apply 2 coats of contact cement to the concrete since it is porous (allowing the first coat to dry before applying the second coat).
