Welcome back to my internship blog at the Cork House! We recently received a big order of new cork fashion products from Portugal, which gave me the opportunity to learn all about inventory and pricing. Our main focus was tagging, pricing, shooting, editing and uploading the variety of bags, shoes and jewelry. Opening the big boxes and going through all the new goodies inside felt like Christmas, but of course without all the cold weather! We’ve just finished launching the new products and they’re available for purchase either in the showroom or on the Cork House website.
Out of all the interesting products we went through, something that really stuck out to me was the cork shoes! Never had I imagined before coming here that cork could be used as a material for footwear, and an excellent one at that. Due to cork’s natural water resistant and durable properties it actually makes a great option for shoes, along with lending it’s unique look to products from boots to sandals.
Although this week I didn’t do much designing, I’ve started a ton of new projects for a variety of different occasions. Soon we’ll be offering customizable designs such as 4th of July for our American customers, to birthdays and retirement parties! I’ll be updating my blog in the weeks to come with these new products so keep an eye out.
And with that, week 7 comes to a close! Make sure to check back next week for my week 8 update!
