Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by for week 12! This week we received a copy fresh off the press of the new Canadian Open Magazine that features my first Cork House ad! It was so exciting to see my work be published on paper for the first time, and I’m so thankful that the Cork House gave me this opportunity. Since the first ad worked out so well, I was also asked to design a new ad this week that focused more on cork flooring. It has been officially sent out and will be printed in the next issue of the Oakville Beaver. If you’re interested in seeing how it turned out make sure to check back for an update!
This week I was also given the task to design coasters for the Jelinek Cork Group’s location in Savannah, Georgia. My Canada day design was well received by people in the company, so they’re looking for a coaster that similarly showcases all the great parts about Savannah as an original souvenir. Since I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting there myself, I set out to do a bunch of research.
The first thing I noticed about Savannah was its gorgeous architecture. From the french gothic-esque Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, to the historical period homes such as the Gingerbread House. They also have beautiful outdoor spots such as the city open market in the historic district and the elegant fountain at Forsyth Park. I’m very excited to start drawing up some ideas on how to represent this lovely city and I hope to make the residents proud!
That’s all for this week. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and see you next time!
